Session 1: Preparing the Home for the 0-3 Child
Parents of infants and toddlers often ask us how they can implement Montessori principles in the home. This workshop is an answer to that question, paring down the theory and practice to its most essential elements. Parents will learn how to tailor their home space to the specific needs of their child, creating a comfortable, collaborative and nurturing environment for the entire family.
There will be just enough theory to help you understand the why as well as the what. Whether you're a parent-to-be, a new parent, or a seasoned pro, this workshop will provide useful and applicable guidance to creating a stimulating and beautiful home environment that balances the needs of every member of the family.

Session II: Preparing the Kitchen for the 0-3 child
Wednesday, July 25, 2012
Many of our warmest and fondest memories of childhood occur in the kitchen. The kitchen offers the child deeply satisfying opportunities for independence, coordination, sensorial exploration, and developing a strong sense of order. By preparing the kitchen environment to support the needs of the very young (and very small!) child, you can offer your little one these same wonderful memories of preparing and sharing food as a family.
In this workshop, parents will learn ways to include children in the practical aspects of preparing food, as well as the courtesy and etiquette to support positive and polite mealtimes. Parents will be encouraged to discuss family values and share ideas as we explore recipes, food preparation, accessibility, and safety. We hope you'll join us for this fun and informative workshop!
